Overview
The qualification aims to equip learners who currently hold or aspire to advance into senior roles within an organization with the responsibility of managing health and safety policies and practices.
It provides an opportunity to deepen their understanding of Occupational Health and Safety management. Learners will develop the skills and knowledge required to comprehend the legal and regulatory framework of occupational health and safety policies, assess existing policies, and recommend or implement necessary changes.
Additionally, learners will gain expertise in applying policies effectively, utilizing management systems, resource allocation, risk and incident management, leadership, and skills development.

Learning Outcomes
Approved centres are responsible for assessing applicants' ability to successfully complete the learning programme and meet the qualification requirements. During the initial assessment, centres must consider the support available or that can be provided to accommodate individual learner needs.
The qualification is designed to be accessible, removing unnecessary barriers to entry. Applicants must be at least 19 years old.
Entry Requirements
Learners are expected to hold the following:
- A Level 5 qualification, or
- Relevant work experience in the business sector, demonstrating ambition and clear career goals.
- For applicants whose first language is not English, an IELTS score of 6 (or equivalent) is required. International qualifications will be assessed for their suitability for enrolment in UK higher education postgraduate programmes, where applicable.
- Applicants are generally expected to provide two supporting references, with at least one being academic.
- In some cases, applicants with significant experience but no formal qualifications may be considered, subject to an interview and the ability to demonstrate their capability to meet the qualification's demands.
